Midlands Metro Alliance (MMA)– Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro Extension (WBHE) Tram Way Extension
ATCN are currently commissioned by Egis Rail UK, one of the partners in the MMA to deliver the scheme. The light rail network will be extended by offering a more attractive public transport system highlighting urban regeneration projects and with costs substantially lower than those generally observed in Britain. The total investment for the development of the Birmingham tram network amounts to 1.2 billion pounds sterling.
The project is for 11km of new tramway with up to 17 stops (some provisional dependent upon surrounding brownfield development). Transport and Works Act Orders are in place and implemented following works in 2009. ATCN are providing lead technical drainage design services for the Ballasted track areas which is approximately 70 percent of the route.
